Stand-Up Paddleboarding Lessons in Seattle
$35 Two-Hour Stand-Up Paddleboarding Lesson
Let's be honest: the last thing you want to do on a sunny day is get stuck inside the gym. Luckily, Washington Surf Academy takes your workout way beyond the Precor. With a two-hour stand-up paddleboard lesson for just $35, you'll not only make waves, you'll also burn calories.
What's stand-up paddleboarding? Think of it this way: if surfing and kayaking had a baby, this would be it. The fastest growing water sport in the world, SUP gets you standing upright on the board, then lets you glide across the water with the help of paddles — it's the next best thing to walking on water. During your session, you'll learn how to stand and maintain stability on your board, master basic paddle strokes, and get the lowdown on currents, wind, and safety. Since 95 percent of the lesson is spent on the water, you'll have time to practice your moves and take in marine life you can't see from the shore (oh hey, starfish!). Your instructor will even clue you in to the best places to paddle around Puget Sound. Don’t tell your gym, but surf's up.
